MAHONIA Soft Caress G

Mahonia ‘Soft Caress’ is a compact, evergreen shrub valued for its elegant, spineless, fern‑like foliage and fragrant yellow flower clusters in late summer and autumn. Forming a rounded mound to about 1m, it provides fine texture and year‑round structure in shaded borders and woodland‑style plantings. For reliable performance in Ireland, grow in moisture‑retentive, humus‑rich, well‑drained soil in partial to full shade; keep roots cool with organic mulch and provide shelter from cold, drying winds. Soil is best neutral to acid; avoid very alkaline or chalky ground.
