Verbena bonariensis
Verbena bonariensis 3lt pot
Verbena bonariensis is an airy, upright perennial bearing tight clusters of small, purple blooms on slender, branching stems from midsummer into autumn. Superb for adding height without heaviness, it weaves through borders and meadow-style plantings and is valued for drawing in pollinators. Grow in full sun in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil; allow the plant to stand over winter and cut back old stems in spring. It may self-seed lightly in favourable conditions.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
