Thuja plic. 'Whipcord' 30-40 cm.
Thuja plicata ‘Whipcord’ is a distinctive dwarf evergreen conifer forming a neat, rounded mound of long, pendulous, cord-like sprays. Fresh green through the growing season, often bronzing slightly in winter, it adds striking texture in containers, rock gardens, or the front of a border. Slow growing and easy to maintain, it prefers full sun or light shade and moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil; fully hardy across Ireland. Over many years it typically reaches about 1–1.5m in height and spread.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
