STIPA tenuissima Pony Tails
STIPA tenuissima Pony Tails
Mexican feather grass with a fine, airy texture, forming graceful clumps of hair‑thin green leaves topped in summer by soft, feathery panicles that mature to buff tones. Best in full sun and well‑drained, moderately fertile soil; once established it copes well with dry conditions and brings movement to borders, gravel plantings and containers. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Eventual size around 60cm tall by 50cm wide. Low maintenance; comb or trim old growth in late winter to early spring. Supplied in a 1L pot; price per plant.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
