Spiraea Snowmound
Spiraea Snowmound
Spiraea Snowmound is a graceful, deciduous shrub with arching stems that become smothered in small, pure white blossom in late spring to early summer, creating a cascading “snowy” effect. Reliable and easy to grow in Ireland, it performs best in full sun but will tolerate light shade, thriving in fertile, moist but well-drained soil. Excellent for mixed borders or informal hedging, and it responds well to light pruning immediately after flowering to maintain its fountain-like shape. Fully hardy and low-maintenance, it reaches around 1.5–2m with a similar spread over time.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
