Sorbus Autumn Spire

Sorbus aucuparia 'Autumn Spire' is a slender, upright rowan valued for its narrow, columnar habit that suits smaller gardens and tight spaces. Deciduous, with green, pinnate foliage that brings strong autumn colour, it bears flat clusters of white flowers in late spring, followed by showy orange-red berries that are enjoyed by birds. Reliable and versatile in Irish gardens, it thrives in full sun or light shade on moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soils (generally acid to neutral), and is fully hardy; its tidy vertical form makes an excellent architectural accent or avenue/streetside choice while supporting garden wildlife.
