SCABIOSA colum. Blue Note
Pincushion ‘Blue Note’ (Scabiosa columbaria ‘Blue Note’) is a compact, clump-forming herbaceous perennial bearing finely cut foliage and abundant lilac-blue, pincushion-like blooms on airy stems from early summer into early autumn. Excellent for pollinators, it’s ideal for sunny borders and cottage-style plantings, thriving in full sun and moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Forms a neat mound to around 50cm in height and spread over time.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
