Sambucus nigra 'Black Tower' C6

Sambucus nigra ‘Black Tower’ is a narrow, upright, fast-growing deciduous elder prized for its deep purple-black foliage and strong vertical form. In early summer it carries flattened clusters of pink flowers, often followed by dark berries later in the season. Best leaf colour develops in full sun, though it also performs well in light shade. Grow in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil; fully hardy and well-suited to Irish gardens, where it makes a striking accent or space-saving feature in mixed borders.
