SALVIA nem. Caradonna

SALVIA nem. Caradonna

Salvia nemorosa ‘Caradonna’ is an upright, clump-forming perennial prized for its deep violet‑purple flower spikes borne on striking dark stems from early summer into early autumn. Reaching around 60–90cm tall and about 45cm wide in time, it thrives in full sun and prefers moderately fertile, well‑drained soil. Ideal for mixed and cottage‑style borders across Ireland, it provides strong vertical accents, benefits from regular deadheading to extend flowering, and is valuable for pollinators. Once established, it copes well with dry, sunny conditions, but avoid waterlogged sites.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
