Salvia microphylla 'Flower Child'

Salvia microphylla 'Flower Child'

Salvia microphylla ‘Flower Child’ is a compact shrubby sage valued for aromatic green foliage and a long season of soft pink flowers from early summer into autumn. Suited to Irish gardens in a sunny, sheltered spot with free‑draining, moderately fertile soil, it’s excellent in mixed borders or containers and is highly attractive to pollinators. Deadhead to prolong display, and in spring lightly trim to remove winter damage and keep a bushy shape, avoiding hard cuts into old wood until new growth appears. Reliable overwintering depends on good drainage; protect from severe cold and excess winter wet.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
