Rodgersia Braunlaub

Rodgersia Braunlaub

Rodgersia ‘Braunlaub’ is a bold, clump-forming perennial prized for its large, hand-shaped leaves that emerge rich bronze-brown in spring before deepening to green. In early to midsummer, upright plumes of small, creamy-white flowers rise above the foliage for a striking, architectural effect. It thrives in Irish gardens where the soil is moisture-retentive and humus-rich, in partial shade to shade, making it ideal for woodland-style borders or beside water. Keep the soil consistently moist, mulch annually to conserve moisture, and give shelter from hot sun and drying winds. Allow space for its broad canopy; established clumps can reach around 1–1.5m in height when in flower.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
