Rhododendron Yak Kalinka 5Lt

Rhododendron yakushimanum hybrid ‘Kalinka’ is a compact, evergreen rhododendron forming a dense, dome-shaped shrub with leathery green leaves. In late spring it produces rounded trusses of pink, funnel-shaped flowers, making a fine choice for acid borders and woodland-style planting in Ireland, and for smaller gardens where space is at a premium. Grow in acidic (ericaceous), humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil; mulch annually to conserve moisture, and site in light shade or sun in cooler or sheltered positions. Avoid chalk or alkaline soils and protect from cold, drying winds. Expected to reach around 1–1.5m in time.
