Polemonium Bressingham Purple
Polemonium Bressingham Purple
Polemonium Bressingham Purple is a clump-forming hardy perennial prized for its deeply divided, ferny foliage that emerges rich purple in spring before maturing to green, and for its loose sprays of violet‑blue to blue, bell-shaped blooms in late spring to early summer. Ideal for mixed and cottage borders in Ireland, it grows best in sun or light shade in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Deadhead spent flowers and cut back after the main flush to keep the clump tidy and encourage fresh foliage; divide every few years in early spring or autumn to maintain vigour. Eventual height about 60cm, spread around 45cm.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
