PIERIS J. FLAMING SILVER

Pieris japonica ‘Flaming Silver’ is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its striking variegated foliage and spring display. New growth often emerges red before maturing to glossy green leaves edged with creamy white, and in spring it bears pendent clusters of small, white, bell-shaped flowers. Grow in Ireland in moist but well-drained, humus-rich, acidic (ericaceous) soil, in sun or light shade; avoid alkaline or chalky ground and protect from harsh, drying winds.
