PHOTINIA SERR. RED ROBIN COMPATTA CLT 10
Photinia × fraseri 'Compacta' is a compact, evergreen selection prized for its vibrant red young shoots that mature to glossy green, giving reliable seasonal colour, especially when lightly trimmed. Suited to full sun or light shade in fertile, well-drained soil, it makes a neat, easily maintained hedge or container specimen; prune after a flush of growth to encourage fresh red foliage. Clusters of small white flowers may appear in late spring if not clipped. In Irish conditions, choose a reasonably sheltered spot to avoid cold, drying winds.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
