PHLOX sub. Fabulous Exp. Blue Dark Centre
A compact, carpeting perennial for sunny, well-drained spots, Phlox subulata ‘Fabulous Blue Dark Centre’ forms a dense mat that spills neatly over edges, rocks and walls. In mid to late spring it is covered in masses of star-shaped, pale blue flowers with a darker eye, creating a vivid sheet of colour at the front of borders, in gravel gardens and rockeries. Plant in full sun and well-drained, preferably light or sandy soil; avoid waterlogging, especially in winter. Lightly trim after flowering to keep the cushion tight and encourage fresh growth.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
