MISCANTHUS sine. 'Zebrinus'
Miscanthus sinensis ‘Zebrinus’ is a striking, clump-forming deciduous grass valued for its bold, horizontal banding: narrow green leaves are striped at intervals with creamy-yellow bars, creating a distinctive “zebra” effect. In late summer to autumn, mature plants may produce airy plumes above the foliage, adding height and movement to borders. Best in full sun and a moisture-retentive but well-drained, moderately fertile soil, it makes an excellent structural accent or backdrop in mixed plantings, with stems left standing for seasonal interest before cutting back to ground level in late winter or early spring in Ireland.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
