Lupin WC King Canute
Lupin WC King Canute
Lupin ‘WC King Canute’ is a clump-forming herbaceous perennial valued for its tall, elegant flower spikes above fresh green, palmate foliage. Ideal for mixed borders in Ireland, it provides bold vertical accents and also makes fine cut flowers. Expect plants to reach about 90–120cm in height with a 30–60cm spread. Grow in full sun or light shade in moist but well‑drained, moderately fertile soil that is neutral to acid; it will tolerate light sandy ground if not allowed to dry out. Flowering typically peaks in early to midsummer (June–July) in Ireland, and the nectar-rich blooms are attractive to bees and other pollinators. Fully hardy and reliable when given good drainage and an open position.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
