Lithodora Heavenly Blue

Lithodora Heavenly Blue

Lithodora ‘Heavenly Blue’ is a low, mat-forming evergreen shrub with narrow, slightly hairy green leaves and masses of intense blue, funnel-shaped flowers from late spring through summer. Ideal for the front of sunny borders, rock gardens and for trailing over walls or raised beds, it prefers sharply drained, moderately fertile, acid (ericaceous) soil in full sun or light shade. Avoid alkaline soils and winter wet. Reaches roughly 10–15cm in height and 60–90cm across over time; trim lightly after flowering to maintain a compact mat.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
