Ligularia 'The Rocket'

Ligularia 'The Rocket'

Ligularia 'The Rocket' is a dramatic, moisture-loving perennial forming bold clumps of large green leaves, topped in mid to late summer by tall, upright spires of small yellow flowers. It thrives in consistently moist, humus-rich, fertile soil and is best in partial shade; it will tolerate sun in Ireland if the ground never dries out. Ideal for damp borders, woodland edges and watersides, where its height (often around 1.5–2m in flower) and architectural foliage give strong structure. Keep soil evenly moist through summer and mulch annually to conserve moisture and support vigorous clump growth.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
