LIGULARIA dent. 'Britt Marie Crawford'
Bold and dramatic, Ligularia dentata ‘Britt Marie Crawford’ is a clump-forming perennial valued for its large, dark purple leaves and midsummer displays of orange-yellow, daisy-like flowers. It thrives in reliably moist, humus-rich, moderately fertile soil in partial shade, and will tolerate sun provided the ground never dries out—ideal for damp borders and the edges of ponds or streams in Irish gardens. Fully hardy, forming sturdy clumps to around 1.2m in flower and close to 1m across; water well in dry spells, mulch to conserve moisture, and protect young foliage from slugs and snails.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
