LEWISIA 'Safira Violet'
LEWISIA 'Safira Violet'
Lewisia ‘Safira Violet’ is a compact, semi-evergreen rosette-forming alpine ideal for rock gardens, troughs and crevices. Expect neat fleshy green leaves and vivid violet-purple blooms in late spring to early summer. For best results in Irish gardens, plant in full sun or light shade in a gritty, sharply drained, light sandy, moderately fertile mix, and keep crowns free of winter wet by top-dressing with gravel. Excellent in containers using alpine compost with added grit; avoid waterlogging and deadhead to encourage further flowering.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
