Hydrangea ar. Strong Annabelle P23
Hydrangea arborescens ‘Strong Annabelle’ is a robust, deciduous hydrangea with sturdy stems that hold very large, rounded flowerheads of white blooms from midsummer into early autumn. The fresh green foliage forms a bushy backdrop for the showy heads, which can be left on the plant over winter for structure. Best in a moisture-retentive but well-drained, fertile soil, it thrives in sun or light shade and is well suited to mixed borders and for cutting. Flowers form on current season’s growth; in late winter to early spring, prune back to a low, healthy framework to encourage strong new shoots and abundant flowering in Irish gardens.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
