Hosta 'Orange Marmalade' ®
Hosta 'Orange Marmalade' is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial prized for bold, variegated foliage. Broad, heart-shaped leaves open with blue‑green margins and rich golden to orange centres that often mature to creamy tones as the season progresses, creating long-lasting colour in shade. In midsummer, upright scapes carry pale lavender flowers above the foliage. Reliable in Irish gardens, it thrives in partial to full shade and in fertile, moisture‑retentive but well‑drained soil. Excellent for woodland plantings, shaded borders and containers; mulch to conserve moisture and protect emerging shoots from slugs and snails; remove spent flower stems and tidy foliage in autumn or early spring.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
