HEBE Rhubarb & Custard

HEBE Rhubarb & Custard

Hebe ‘Rhubarb & Custard’ is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its colourful, variegated foliage and summer flower spikes. The bushy, rounded habit makes a neat feature for borders or containers, with leaves showing creamy-yellow and green variegation flushed pink on young growth, and purple flower clusters in summer adding extra interest. In Ireland, grow in a sheltered spot in full sun or light shade, in moist but well‑drained, moderately fertile soil; trim lightly after flowering to maintain a tidy shape. Well suited to coastal locations and mild gardens where winters are not too severe.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
