HAKONECHLOA macra 3 Litre

HAKONECHLOA macra 3 Litre

Hakonechloa macra is a graceful, clump-forming ornamental grass prized for its softly arching, fresh-green leaves that form neat mounds around 40–50cm tall, slowly spreading with time. Ideal for edging paths, containers, and woodland or shaded borders, it brings movement and texture under trees and among shade-loving perennials such as hostas and ferns. Best in partial shade with a moisture-retentive, humus-rich but well-drained soil; keep evenly moist in summer, especially in drier spells. Cut back old foliage in late winter or early spring to make way for new growth, and mulch annually to conserve moisture. Small, airy greenish flowers may appear in late summer.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
