EUPATORIUM rug. 'Chocolate' (syn. Ageratina altissima 'Chocolate') is an upright, clump-forming herbaceous perennial valued for its deep purple-bronze foliage and flat-topped clusters of small, fluffy white flowers that appear from late summer into autumn. Grow in sun or light shade for the best leaf colour, in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Fully hardy in Irish gardens, it brings striking contrast and late-season interest to mixed and cottage-style borders.
