Euonymus fort. 'Harlequin' 30-40 cm.
Euonymus fortunei ‘Harlequin’ is a compact, slow-growing evergreen shrub valued for its small, neat leaves, attractively mottled white and green for year-round foliage interest; young growth may be lightly tinged pink. Reliable and easy to grow in Ireland, it’s well suited to edging, low ground cover and containers, and responds well to light trimming to keep a tidy shape. Best in well-drained soil, in sun or shade; brighter light enhances the variegation.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
