Erysimum 'Bowles' Mauve'

Erysimum 'Bowles' Mauve'

Erysimum 'Bowles' Mauve' is an evergreen, short-lived perennial wallflower with narrow green foliage and an exceptionally long flowering season in Ireland, carrying upright spires of mauve-purple blooms from spring into early autumn. Awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, including light or chalky ground, and dislikes winter wet. Compact and bushy, it typically reaches about 80cm tall and 60cm wide, providing reliable colour for mixed borders and gravel plantings while offering good nectar for pollinators.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
