ERYNGIUM 'Magical Blue Lagoon'

ERYNGIUM 'Magical Blue Lagoon'

ERYNGIUM 'Magical Blue Lagoon' is a compact sea holly with upright, branching stems carrying thistle-like flowerheads in mid to late summer; the central cones are surrounded by a ruff of spiny bracts that develop a vivid steel-blue colour. Best in full sun and well-drained, light to moderately fertile soil, it thrives in dry conditions and dislikes winter wet. Ideal for sunny, gravel or mixed borders in Ireland, it adds bold structure, makes an excellent fresh or dried cut flower, and is valued by pollinators. Leave seedheads for long-lasting structure or cut back after flowering; growth is generally steady and low-maintenance once established.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
