DODONEA visc. Purpurea

Dodonaea viscosa ‘Purpurea’ is an evergreen shrub valued for its striking foliage: narrow leaves display bronze‑purple to deep purple tones, often intensifying in colder weather. Small greenish-yellow flowers may be followed by papery, winged fruits, but it is primarily grown for year‑round leaf colour and as a neat screen or hedge in mild, very sheltered gardens. For best results in Ireland, plant in full sun and well‑drained, moderately fertile soil; it is half hardy, so choose a warm, sheltered spot or grow in a container and give winter protection in colder areas.
