Digitalis purp. 'Dalmatian Rose'

Digitalis purp. ‘Dalmatian Rose’ is a compact, first-year-flowering foxglove bearing elegant spires of soft rose-pink, tubular blooms with contrasting, darkly speckled throats in early to mid-summer, above neat rosettes of green leaves. Grow in sun or light shade in moisture-retentive, humus-rich, well-drained, moderately fertile soil. Ideal for the front to middle of informal, cottage-style borders and for wildlife-friendly plantings, where it provides nectar for bees. Usually grown as a short-lived perennial or biennial; deadhead spent spikes to keep plants tidy. Fully hardy in Ireland; note that all parts are poisonous if ingested and can irritate skin.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
