Dianthus barbatus 'Pink Magician'
Dianthus barbatus Pink Magic 2ltr pot
Dianthus barbatus ‘Pink Magic’ (Sweet William) is a short-lived perennial or biennial prized for its sweetly scented, domed clusters of pink blooms in early summer. Forming neat clumps of narrow, semi-evergreen green leaves, it reaches around 30–60cm and is excellent for cottage-style borders, edging, containers and cutting. For best results in Irish gardens, grow in full sun in a moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil; it will tolerate chalk and benefits from regular deadheading to extend the display.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
