Cortaderia selleona Pink is a dramatic pampas grass valued for its tall, feathery pink plumes that rise above arching, evergreen clumps of narrow green leaves. Best in full sun and fertile, well‑drained soil, it brings strong structure and movement as an architectural focal point or informal screen in Irish gardens, with flowering typically from late summer into autumn. Cut back old plumes and tatty foliage in late winter to early spring to keep the clump tidy, and wear sturdy gloves when handling as the leaf margins are sharp; avoid waterlogged sites.
