Callistemon Splendens
Callistemon Splendens
Callistemon ‘Splendens’ is an evergreen bottlebrush shrub grown for its vivid red, brush-like flower spikes in late spring to early summer, set against narrow, aromatic green leaves. In Ireland it performs best in full sun and a warm, sheltered spot, ideally against a south- or west-facing wall. Plant in moist but well-drained, moderately fertile, neutral to acid soil and avoid chalk; prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage new shoots for the next season’s display.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
