Burrageara 'Nelly Isler'
Burrageara 'Nelly Isler'
Burrageara 'Nelly Isler' is a compact Oncidium‑alliance orchid valued for its striking, long‑lasting red flowers carried on arching stems above evergreen foliage. Best grown in Ireland as a houseplant or in a frost‑free conservatory, it thrives in bright, indirect light and good airflow. Use free‑draining orchid bark compost; water thoroughly and then allow the surface to just dry before watering again, maintaining moderate humidity and feeding with a dilute orchid fertiliser during active growth. Remove spent flower spikes after blooming and repot into fresh orchid compost when the plant outgrows its container.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
