Astrantia maj. 'Shaggy' C2

Astrantia major ‘Shaggy’ is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial prized for its large, ragged-looking, green-tipped white bracts surrounding pincushion-like blooms in early to late summer. Ideal for Irish gardens, it thrives in moisture-retentive, fertile, humus-rich soil in sun or light shade, and benefits from consistent moisture; avoid letting the soil dry out. Excellent in mixed and cottage borders, at woodland edges, and for cutting, its long-lasting flowers attract pollinators; deadhead to encourage further blooms and mulch annually to conserve moisture.
