APPLE DISCOVERY
A much-loved early dessert apple, Malus domestica 'Discovery' produces attractive spring blossom followed by reliable crops suited to Irish gardens. Grow in a sunny, sheltered spot with moist but well-drained, fertile soil for best flavour and colouring. Flowers in spring and fruits are typically ready in early season; enjoy them soon after picking as they do not store for long. For the heaviest crops, plant with a compatible apple that flowers at a similar time to assist pollination.
