AGAPANTHUS 'Volendam'

AGAPANTHUS 'Volendam'

Agapanthus ‘Volendam’ is a clump-forming perennial valued for its bold, strap-like green foliage and showy summer umbels held on sturdy stems. Best in full sun in Ireland, it thrives in fertile, free-draining soil and is ideal for sunny borders, gravel gardens and containers. Once established it copes well with dry spells and suits coastal, exposed settings; ensure good drainage and apply a protective winter mulch to the crown in colder areas. Deadhead spent stems to keep plants tidy and divide congested clumps in spring or early autumn.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
