Agapanthus A Brilliant Blue
Agapanthus A Brilliant Blue
Agapanthus A Brilliant Blue is a clump-forming, deciduous perennial prized for rounded heads of vivid blue, trumpet-shaped flowers carried on upright stems above strappy green foliage. Flowering in mid to late summer, it brings strong structure and colour to sunny borders and containers, typically reaching around 60–90cm in height when in bloom. For best results in Irish gardens, plant in full sun in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil; avoid waterlogging, especially in winter. Deadhead spent blooms to prolong display, and in colder areas or in pots give winter protection from severe frost and excess winter wet.
To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
