ACTAEA simp. 'Brunette'

A statuesque, late-season perennial for Irish gardens, Actaea simplex ‘Brunette’ makes clumps of finely divided, dark purple foliage and sends up tall, scented, white bottlebrush flowers from late summer into autumn. Best in partial shade and a reliably moist, humus-rich, fertile soil, it excels in woodland and shaded borders where consistent moisture can be maintained; avoid dry or waterlogged ground. Fully hardy and of average, clump-forming growth.
