Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' 125-150 CM C35

Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is a renowned purple-leaved Japanese maple valued for its elegant branching and season-long colour. Deeply lobed, rich purple foliage holds well through summer before turning brilliant red in autumn, giving dependable seasonal interest. Small, purple-toned spring flowers may be followed by decorative winged fruits. Best grown in moist but well-drained, fertile, preferably acidic to neutral soil, it performs well in sun or light shade in Ireland, with the best results in a sheltered spot out of cold, drying winds. A slow-growing, graceful choice for specimen planting and for creating an authentic Japanese-style feel in the garden.
