Acer palmatum Bloodgood 10 Ltr Pot

Acer palmatum 'Bloodgood' is a celebrated Japanese maple grown for its deep purple-red, finely lobed leaves that hold colour well through summer before turning vivid crimson in autumn. A slow-growing, deciduous small tree with a graceful, branching silhouette, it makes an excellent specimen for sheltered Irish gardens and courtyards. Plant in moist but well-drained, fertile soil that is neutral to acid, in sun or light shade, and protect from cold, drying winds to minimise leaf scorch. Small purple flowers appear in spring, followed by winged fruits that add seasonal interest. In time, it forms a small tree with an eventual height and spread of around 4–8m, suiting use as a focal point or within structured planting schemes.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
